this is one of those moments where everything simultaneously comes together, and slows down just a fraction of a second giving you some room to move in your head while you watch all the pieces move into place.

we were walking west up stephen ave, all three of us tight stepped and i noticed the shock of white hair from a shot i took of the same guy playing on the piano. the light was almost gone but reflections were lighting up their table i slowed a half step and changed some settings on the camera.

then i saw her walking towards. but i was almost upon the guys and i had doug and jeff walking behind me. I quietly stepped out towards the street and prayed they didn’t stop too.

i waited till she caught their eye and boom. a second before they were looking at at each other. a second later they were looking at me.

it’s magic when of all the things you could see, all the lighting conditions that might arise, all the characters, the situations and it just expands itself into something like this.

i feel pretty lucky. i took 1500 shots yesterday covering skate kids, beatbox competitions, dance battles, street, but i only got one of these.
